BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Baton Rouge lawyer Chuck Ward received a slap on the wrist for his role in purchasing drugs after he was caught by the feds in a large-scale drug investigation.
That investigation led to the indictments of five different individuals. However, Ward was not charged even though he’s identified in the indictment by his initials, C.W., as allegedly purchasing numerous drugs.
Ward was interviewed by the FBI, where he acknowledged his misconduct, according to Supreme Court filings. The US Attorney’s Office advised the Office of Disciplinary Council (ODC) that they would not pursue charges against him, the filings read. The WAFB I-TEAM uncovered a subpoena filed last year, where Ward was called to court on Halloween. We’re told he testified that day but pleaded the fifth to many questions he was asked so as not to incriminate himself…
