BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A Baton Rouge man on Wednesday, July 23, accepted a 70-year plea deal for killing a recent LSU graduate in 2020.
Prosecutors agreed to allow Connor Regan, 32, to enter a guilty plea to a reduced manslaughter charge after he was originally charged with the second-degree murder of Kinnedy Smith.
Police said Smith was found dead with multiple stab wounds at an apartment on Jefferson Highway in June of 2020. Officials said Regan killed Smith after some sort of domestic dispute.
Baton Rouge District Judge Collette Greggs accepted the agreement and sentenced Regan to 40 years for the manslaughter charge and two additional 15-year sentences for counts of obstruction…
