BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man accused of the death of one person during an attempted robbery in Baton Rouge was arrested and charged.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said Markle Burris Jr., 18, was charged with second-degree murder and attempted armed robbery-use of a firearm. Melique Etienne, 22, was killed in the 3700 block of Cathedral Drive near N. Foster Drive around 6:30 p.m. July 22.
Court records show that three arrest warrants for armed robbery cases have been filed this year for Burris.
