Gonzales man sentenced to 15 years for October 2023 shooting in Donaldsonville

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — 23-year-old Jeremiah Preston was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and another man injured.

On October 27, 2023, deputies from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting near the football stadium at Donaldsonville High School.
