Coroner called after pedestrian hit and killed by garbage truck on Airline Highway, officials say

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — First responders were called to the scene of a pedestrian struck and killed at the East Baton Rouge Parish and Ascension Parish line around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29.

It happened near the Manchac Bridge and led to the closure of Airline Highway southbound.
