BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Families in the Baton Rouge area are getting ready for school. To help, #iNeedTheeChurch is hosting a back-to-school bash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.
The event will take place at the church on 6180 Winbourne Avenue in Baton Rouge.
Besides free backpacks and school supplies, the giveaway will also include free shoes. Pastor Brandon Buckley said the shoes are part of an anti-bullying effort.
