BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An Ascension Parish resident is working towards joining the United States Navy submarine force.
Seaman Recruit Mesiye Stirgus, of Prairieville, is currently in the Naval Submarine School. The recruit is working towards becoming a machinist’s mate.
Stirgus has been in the U.S. Navy for ten months. The Prairieville native graduated from Saint Amant High School last year.
