New Baton Rouge road projects are under construction or will be soon, officials say

When East Baton Rouge Parish voters in 2018 approved a half-cent sales tax, it was for 71 badly needed road projects, in an effort named MoveEBR by the city-parish government.

It’s been seven years, but drivers in the parish are still seeing the impact of MoveEBR, including four upcoming road improvements.

The sales tax went into effect on April 1, 2019, and will remain on the books until March 31, 2049. Proceeds of the tax can be spent only on the approved list of projects…
