Council votes not to approve alcohol license for Mustard Seed Creamery

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Denham Springs Council again voted against approving an alcohol license for the Mustard Seed Creamery Tuesday.

The permit was denied in a 3-2 vote at the Aug. 12 meeting.

The license renewal was denied in a July 28 council meeting after questions were raised about whether the building was operating as a business or a church since the space is used for religious gatherings for a short time on Sundays. Gatherings took place before the restaurant opened for business…
