EMTs in high demand, new training class starting in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A new nationwide study ranks EMTs as the most AI-resistant job in the United States, thanks to their hands-on work, split-second decision making, and constant public interaction.

“It’s the human component, just being able to go and visit with people, talk to them, access them, and dealing with the public hands and that personal touch,” Acadian recruiter Brian Cowart said.

The National EMS Academy’s next 12-week EMT course starts Sept. 8. There will be classes in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Covington, Houma, Thibodaux and Lake Charles…
