Suspect arrested after Antique Village businesses vandalized hours after liquor license vote

DENHAM SPRINGS — Two businesses in Antique Village were vandalized, defaced with graffiti on August 12. Fab Four Barbershop and the Mustard Seed Creamery both had vulgar pictures, words, and messages spray painted on their buildings and windows.

The vandalism happened after the Denham Springs City Council meeting, where the council voted 3-2 to deny the Mustard Seed Creamery a liquor license. The ice cream shop and restaurant has been in a months-long battle with the city to reinstate its alcohol permit. The city didn’t renew it for 2025, saying the creamery is a church because it hosts the Mustard Seed Church on Sunday mornings.

In a text message, Mustard Seed Creamery owner Tim Levert told UWK “It certainly seems to be related to last night, the building next to us and the residence behind us also had some tags. So who knows. Police report is filed, hopefully they can catch the person.”…
