Donaldsonville man sentenced to 55 years for attempted murder, robbery

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Donaldsonville man convicted of charges tied to a 2017 shooting case was sentenced Tuesday.

Kahlil Howard, 27, was sentenced to 55 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. According to District Attorney Ricky Babin’s office, the court ordered that the sentence run consecutively to a 20-year sentence for a manslaughter conviction from 2021.
