BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Governor Jeff Landry approved the deployment of the Louisiana National Guard (LANG) to Washington, D.C., on Monday.
According to a news release, LANG is being activated to assist and support the Metropolitan Police Department, the District of Columbia National Guard, and the D.C. local law enforcement to protect federal buildings, national monuments, and other federal properties.
“Louisiana Guardsmen are trained and ready to support the District of Columbia. Our Guardsmen mobilized quickly upon order, displaying efficiency, professionalism, and an understanding of what it means to serve in the Guard.
