Councilman Darryl Hurst is on Tire Patrol

Metro Councilman Darryl Hurst joins the show to clarify recent controversy over his purchase of an ATV using salary savings. The vehicle, acquired legally and transparently, supports operations at his five-acre Community Center, including cleanups and community events. It requires tire sellers to obtain a separate permit and follow strict storage guidelines—no more than five tires visible to the public, with others stored securely. Violators face fines of $50 per tire and potential permit revocation.

The initiative addresses widespread illegal dumping, especially in underserved areas, and aims to make corridors like Florida Blvd. more attractive for investment.
