Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry cut the ribbon Thursday, Aug. 28, to officially open the new $160 million Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women nearly 10 years after the previous facility was put out of commission.
The new 300,000 square-foot facility on La. 74in St. Gabriel will replace the former site destroyed in the Great Flood of 2016.
