BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Some Baton Rouge area restaurants and organizations are stepping up to feed people after federal benefits are set to be cut off Nov. 1.
Gov. Jeff Landry announced that not all SNAP recipients will get state-funded benefits starting in November. After lawmakers’ approval, the state will take the responsibility of distributing benefits while the federal government remains shut down.
