BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A woman is behind bars after she allegedly forged checks to steal over $2,000 from a resident at the assisted living home where she worked.
Jail records show Kelsianna Smith, 31, was arrested by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office on Monday, Nov. 3. She is facing charges for exploitation of the infirmed, eight counts of forgery, felony theft over $1,000, and two counts of bank fraud.
According to arrest records, the investigation began after the victim’s daughter noticed several checks fraudulently written from her mother’s account to Smith.
