Arson suspect charged after St. George house fire

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man accused of starting a St. George house fire a few months ago was arrested Tuesday.

The St. George Fire Protection District (SGFPD) identified the suspect as Stan Granier, 54. He was charged with arson with intent to defraud and aggravated arson.

Firefighters responded to Pecue Lane before 4 a.m. Aug. 11, where a two-story home was on fire. No injuries were reported. Investigators found that Granier allegedly set fire to the home with the intention of getting insurance money…
