Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank receives $25,000 from Brookshire Grocery Company

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will receive $25,000 from Brookshire Grocery Company as part of a $500,000 donation to food banks across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

The company is working with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank to coordinate the donation timing. The contribution comes as food banks experience increased demand during the ongoing government shutdown and a temporary pause in federal SNAP benefits.

“Our company was founded on the core value of serving our communities, and that commitment remains strong today,” said Brad Brookshire, Chairman and CEO for BGC. “We recognize the challenges many families are facing, especially during this time of increased need, and we are honored to support the food banks that are on the front lines of hunger relief.”
