BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Baton Rouge SNAP recipients can take advantage of a company’s generous offer of money to be used to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables at a farmers market.
According to the Big River Economic & Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA), Beau Box Real Estate launched a company fundraiser to help families in need of food. Shoppers with a zero-dollar SNAP balance will get $20 to shop starting Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Red Stick Farmers Market’s Main Library at Goodwood location.

“We wanted to find a meaningful way to support an organization that fulfills such an essential need in our community,” said Jessie Babcock, BREADA Board Member and Beau Box Real Estate Agent. “It’s especially rewarding to uplift the local families who grow our food while also helping those who need access to it most.”
