250 Border Agents Being Deployed To Louisiana For Major Mission

(KHLA – Lake Charles, Louisiana) – In the upcoming weeks, a two-month immigration operation involving around 250 federal border officials is scheduled to arrive in south Louisiana.

The operation is called Swamp Sweep and its goal is to arrest 5,000+ people in southeast Louisiana and into Mississippi.

According to KATC, the Trump administration is working hard to carry out the president’s campaign pledge of mass deportations, and the deployment is expected to be in full force around December 1.

Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino will lead the operation beginning in New Orleans.

In southeast Louisiana, from New Orleans through Jefferson, St. Bernard, and St. Tammany parishes and as far north as Baton Rouge, Border Patrol teams are getting ready to fan out across neighborhoods and commercial hubs, according to planning documents obtained by the AP.
