New data shows high rates of single-parent households in the Greater Baton Rouge area

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A new report shows how many children in Louisiana are growing up in single-parent households, a factor linked to higher risks of mental health challenges, poverty, and poor health outcomes.

The data, released as part of the 2025 Annual County Health Rankings, used information collected between 2019 and 2023.
