BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A dog was rescued during an accidental house fire caused by an electrical malfunction at a home in East Baton Rouge Parish on Nov. 27.
The St. George Fire Department (SGFD) confirmed the incident took place in the 17600 block of Sugar Mill Avenue around 8:30 p.m.
A SGFD official said the dog was safely rescued and transferred to EMS. First responders evaluated the animal and helped keep it warm.
SGFD confirmed that no residents were inside of the home at the time of the fire.
