Man shot by New Roads officer files suit

NEW ROADS, La. (WAFB) – The son of Iberville Parish Assessor Randy Sexton filed a lawsuit Monday alleging the New Roads Police Officer who shot him used excessive force and violated his constitutional rights by shooting him as he fled.

John Dillon Sexton was shot on September 19, 2025, when a New Roads Police Officer responded to a disturbance at the O’Riley’s Auto Parts Store located on Hospital Road.
