BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A fifth suspect in connection with the hazing death of Southern University student Caleb Wilson was arrested Tuesday.
Jail records show Jaydn Landrum, 24, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a fugitive charge. According to an indictment filed on Dec. 10, he faces nine counts of principal to misdemeanor hazing.
The other suspects previously arrested and facing charges in the case are Isaiah Smith, 29; Kyle Thurman, 26; Caleb McCray, 24; and Winston Sanders, 22. Court records available online show that all suspects have an arraignment scheduled for Jan. 15.
Wilson was a 20-year-old Southern University student who died in February after being punched in the chest with boxing gloves in an unsanctioned Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. pledging ritual. Since his death, the university expelled the fraternity from its Baton Rouge campus…
