Company that converts hotels to extended-stay apartments opens third Baton Rouge location

An Arkansas-based company that turns hotels into extended-stay apartments has opened its third location in the Capital Region.

Eagle Suites opened its latest building at 11314 Boardwalk Drive, a former FairBridge Inn Express, in November. The property is still undergoing renovations, but currently has 20 occupants and will have a total of 106 rooms once complete.

Eagle Suites first entered the Louisiana market with a location on Airline Highway earlier this year and acquired a former Super 6 Inn & Suites on Gwenadele Avenue last month. At the same time, it bought the Boardwalk Drive property for $1.9 million. Renovations are ongoing for both, and the Airline Highway location has 90% of its available units leased with the remaining units going on the market within a month. Eagle Suites anticipates the Gwenadele Avenue apartments to start leasing this week…
