Man accused of ramming ICE vehicle indicted on federal assault charge

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A man living in the Baton Rouge area, accused of ramming an ICE vehicle occupied by three people, including two federal agents, has been federally indicted.

A federal grand jury returned the indictment against Evodio Merida-Tavera, 42, for one count of assaulting a federal officer.

Merida-Tavera is already facing charges in the 19th Judicial District Court (19th JDC), which include aggravated damage to property and resisting a police officer with force or violence…
