BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Firefighters responded to a house fire early Friday morning at a home on Delaware Street in Baton Rouge.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, crews were called to the scene in the 3600 block of Delaware Street around 6:17 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames and smoke coming from one side of the home.
Crews entered the house to search for anyone inside and to put out the fire. BRFD said the fire was brought under control within seven minutes of the first unit’s arrival.
Most of the damage was on one side of the home. BRFD said the rest of the structure also faced smoke and water damage. Fire officials estimate the building loss at $40,000…
