BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The United States Department of Health and Human Services announced the launch of a fellowship and career fair for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
According to a release, HHS is launching the Roy Wilkins Fellowship for HBCU students interested in public service. The fellowship is named after NAACP leader and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Wilkins. He worked closely with Sen. Robert F. Kennedy during civil rights debates in the 1960s.
