Man charged after stolen trailer from Mississippi found in West Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Deputies in West Baton Rouge Parish arrested a DeQuincy man Monday after he was found with a trailer that was reported stolen.

The trailer reported stolen out of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was found by detectives patrolling Louisiana Highway 1 near Lafiton Lane. Detectives confirmed that it was registered to a GMC truck, not to the trailer itself, after checking the license plate.

Brandon Charpentier, 33, was charged with illegal possession of stolen things and switched license plate. He was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center…
