No trash, recycling pickup on New Year’s Day in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — City-Parish offices in Baton Rouge will close for the New Year holiday, according to the Office of Mayor-President Sid Edwards.

City-Parish offices will dismiss early at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Offices will remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 1, and Friday, Jan. 2, in observance of New Year’s Day.

City officials said there will be no curbside garbage, recycling, or out-of-cart collection services on Thursday, Jan. 1. Regular trash and recycling pickup will resume on each resident’s next scheduled collection day.
