An oyster restaurant in Baton Rouge closed its doors on Friday after six years of operation

Southern Pearl Oyster House, which opened in 2019, permanently closed its doors Friday, leaving a sign on the door that read, “We are closed. This location has permanently closed as of January 1, 2026. Thank you to our guests and community for your support over the years.”

The automated message left at the store’s phone number left a similar message thanking customers for their support.

The seafood restaurant located at 9460 Perkins Road, on the corner of Perkins and Hyacinth Avenue, serving oysters, gumbo, pasta, steak and more.
