BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A new restaurant could be opening soon in Denham Springs.
Katie Mahmood and Kay Mahmood are the owners of Redbird Fried Chicken located at2660 Sac Au Lait Blvd., Suite A. The pair says they are targeting January for their opening.
The restaurant’s fried chicken won the award for “Best Fried Chicken” at the 2023 National Fried Chicken Festival.
Guests will be able to try that award-winning fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, fish and fried shrimp. There is one new addition to the menu in the form of BBQ sandwiches.
There will also be multiple sides available, including coleslaw, seasoned fries, mashed potatoes, onion rings, fried okra, gumbo, mac and cheese, and red beans and rice.
