Overnight fire at vacant apartment being investigated as arson

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) -Fire investigators with the Baton Rouge Fire Department is asking for any information regarding an overnight fire that was found to be intentionally set.

Crews responded to the scene at the Concord Condominiums in the 3000 block of Congress Boulevard shortly before 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered heavy smoke and flames coming a window in the building. When crews entered the vacant apartment, they say a mattress was found burning in the living room.

According to officials, the fire was quickly extinguished before it could cause damage. No injuries were reported…
