Bond denied for man accused of shooting 2-year-old

BATON ROUGE — At a hearing today, a 19th JDC commissioner denied bond for Landrick Ruffin, the man accused of a shooting that landed a 2-year-old child in the hospital on New Year’s eve.

District Attorney Hillar Moore confirmed that Ruffin’s bond was denied on Jan. 6 by Commissioner Kory Tauzin.

According to BRPD, a woman was driving in the 1500 block of Harding Boulevard on Dec. 31, 2025, when she saw a vehicle she believed had been stolen. She then followed the vehicle to the 2500 block of 79th Street, where Ruffin allegedly exited the vehicle he was in and began shooting, BRPD said…
