Baton Rouge man charged with attempted murder after dispute

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man was arrested on Jan. 3 after being accused of attempted murder.

According to an affidavit, Baton Rouge police officers were called to the area of Parkwood Drive on Jan. 2.

When they arrived, officers met with the victim, who said that she and Jamal McKenzie, 18, were involved in an argument that turned physical.

The victim said that she and McKenzie were arguing when he allegedly broke her iPhone and iPad in front of their 2-year-old and 7-month-old children. The victim said she went next door while holding her 7-month-old to ask her neighbor to use their phone to call the police…
