A series of rain showers gave way to yet another a sudden drop in temperatures across much of southeast Louisiana Saturday, but local forecasters say the cold weather is here to stay for a while.
After several warm, muggy days with highs often reaching the 80s, southeast Louisiana residents woke up Sunday morning to brisk temperatures in the 40s or lower. Consistent cold fronts are expected to keep things cool across the region for the next 10 days or so, according to WVUE-TV meteorologist Zack Fradella, bringing the potential for near-freezing temperatures overnight this week to areas north of Interstates 10 and 12.
To sum it up, Fradella said on social media Sunday, expect “a nice chill all week with a few freezes at night.”…
