Superintendent mourns loss of student killed in Baton Rouge shooting

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — East Baton Rouge Parish Schools Superintendent LaMont Cole released a statement Sunday after a deadly shooting on Wood Street claimed the life of Northdale Academy student E’myrie Walker.

In the statement, Cole offered condolences to Walker’s family, friends, and classmates.

“The loss of a young life to violence is devastating and deeply felt across our school community. There are no words that can fully ease this pain, but we stand together in mourning and in support of one another,” Cole said.
