Southern University hazing suspects enter plea in court

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The five suspects facing hazing-related charges in the death of Southern University student Caleb Wilson entered not-guilty pleas in court on Thursday, Jan. 15.

Caleb McCray, Kyle Thurman, Isaiah Smith, Winston Sanders, and Jaydn Landrum were indicted in December 2025 on charges ranging from obstruction of justice and principal to felony hazing to manslaughter.

According to officials, a sixth suspect, identified as Jaelyn Grissom, was also allegedly involved, but not indicted. Authorities say he can be later if more evidence is brought forth, however…
