A video circulating widely on social media claims to show decaying bridge supports for the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge, but the bridge isn’t even in Louisiana.
The video, shared on Instagram earlier this week, has a caption on screen reading, “Yikes – these are the supports for the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge that carries Interstate 10 and connects Lafayette and Baton Rouge Louisiana!”
But the claim is false. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says the bridge’s foundation is not even constructed in the way shown in the video…
