Two daughters charged after infirmed mother found with skin ‘peeling from her body’

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department into the condition of a 64-year-old mother led to her two daughters being charged with one count of cruelty to the elderly or infirmed.

Alicia Bureau, 42, of Baton Rouge, and Chereia McKinley, 39, of Baton Rouge, were charged after police responded to a location on Bellhaven Trace Drive on Wednesday, Jan. 14.

BRPD said their mother is infirmed and needs to be cared for all the time. The 64-year-old woman “is unable to move, feed herself, change herself, or bathe herself,” according to the affidavit.

Bureau and McKinley lived with their mother, and both were responsible for caring for their mother…
