BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Be prepared for bitterly cold Arctic air to once again impact the local area over the weekend.
COLD BLAST MOVING IN
A short but significant blast of cold Arctic air will impact South Louisiana and Southwest Mississippi over parts of the weekend. Temperatures will begin to see a steady drop beginning this evening.
An Extreme Cold Warning is in place for the vast majority of the WAFB viewing area beginning at midnight tonight until 10 AM Sunday. This accounts for the potential of temperatures and wind chills in the teens°.
Wind chill values on Saturday may not ever get out of the low 20°s. That means anyone with outdoor plans Saturday will need to bundle up in layers and potentially cover exposed skin to avoid frost bite and hypothermia concerns…
