Baton Rouge council to consider removing Cleve Dunn from airport board after indictment

A member of the East Baton Rouge Metro Council has called for a vote on removing Councilman Cleve Dunn Jr. from the Baton Rouge Airport Commission after Dunn was indicted on charges including bribery and money laundering.

In a statement Thursday, council member Dwight Hudson announced he was placing an introductory item on the council agenda for next Wednesday’s meeting. If the council adopts the item for Dunn’s removal, a public hearing would be held on Feb. 25. Then, on March 25, either a public or private hearing would be held in which Dunn could testify to his colleagues.

“This action does not remove anyone from office,” Hudson said. “It begins a process required by law that is designed to protect fairness and due process.”…
