FedEx driver arrested in $32k Walmart merchandise theft, deputies say

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office says a FedEx driver was arrested after merchandise that was intended to be delivered to Walmart never arrived.

According to authorities, detectives were contacted by a Walmart global investigator who reported that multiple packages scheduled for shipment to Walmart were stolen. Due to the packages being equipped with tracking devices, investigators were able to track the merchandise to the 6000 block of Jones Creek Road.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the associated apartment and discovered approximately $32,000 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered…
