BRPD Sgt. Caleb Eisworth to be honored in Washington, D.C.: Fundraiser launches for travel costs

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is raising $100,000 to cover family members’ and police officers’ travel expenses to Washington, D.C., where Sgt. Caleb Eisworth’s name will be added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Wall.

Eisworth died from his injuries after he was intentionally hit by a truck on Joor Road while escorting a funeral procession in June 2025. He had served with BRPD for 23 years.

According to the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Foundation, the event will take place in May during National Police Week. Events include a Blue Mass, a 5K race, a candlelight vigil and more.
