Two arrested, third suspect sought after Garyville shooting injures Baton Rouge man

Authorities have arrested two suspects and are searching for another after a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Garyville that injured a 32-year-old Baton Rouge man, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire about 2:42 p.m. Feb. 3 in the 100 block of Historic West Street. A patrol deputy heard multiple gunshots while in the area and saw several people running as he drove toward the sound, officials said. One person was carrying an AR-15-style firearm, according to the St John  Sheriff’s Office.

A bystander later flagged down the deputy and reported that someone had been shot. The victim, identified as Clarence Scott Jr., was found conscious on the ground with a gunshot wound to his thigh…
