LOUISIANA — A 20-year-old man was arrested Saturday night following a police pursuit that began in Port Allen and ended when his vehicle crashed into a sugar cane field near Brusly High School.
According to the Port Allen Police Department, officers were called around 10 p.m. to a hit-and-run crash near Louisiana Highway 1 and Avenue G. The vehicle involved fled the scene and traveled toward the Intracoastal Bridge.
Police said officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver led them on a brief pursuit before crashing into a sugar cane field along Highway 1, across from Brusly High School…
