Baton Rouge police arrest 2 connected to business burglaries

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Baton Rouge police arrested two men connected to a series of business burglaries.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said two search warrants were executed in the 600 block of Kaufman Street and the 5600 block of Alexander Avenue regarding stolen property valued at over $50,000, including copper wire.

Carey Sanders, 36, and Johnathan Sanders, 24, were booked on charges of two counts of simple burglary.

According to an affidavit, investigators viewed a video showing four people identified as family members collecting copper scrap valued at $52,000 using a forklift at Southern Recycling on Scenic Highway. Police said all four wore masks and gloves…
