Gov. Landry names new LSU Board of Supervisors chair

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Gov. Jeff Landry announced a leadership change to the LSU Board of Supervisors Thursday after Scott Ballard stepped down as chair.

Landry praised Ballard for moving the university forward “in a big way,” as he led the board in its search for new university system leadership, strengthening of accountability, and more to elevate LSU academically and in athletics. He noted that Ballard will continue to serve on the board.

Lee Mallett, who was serving as vice chair, was named as the board’s new chair. “I look forward to working together to continue LSU’s strong momentum and build on the progress that has been made,” Landry said as Mallett takes the helm…
