East Baton Rouge EMS announces 13-week EMT training program starting June 8

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — East Baton Rouge Parish Emergency Medical Services will start a new EMT training program in 2026. This 13-week course is for anyone looking to begin a career in emergency medical services.

According to the program flyer, classes will begin June 8 and will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Organizers said the program is an opportunity for individuals looking to become certified EMTs.

Attendance at an information session is required before enrolling in the program. Several sessions are scheduled:

  • 6 p.m. on March 12
  • 10 a.m. on March 21
  • 9 a.m. on March 26
  • 6 p.m. on April 2
  • 9 a.m. on April 7
  • 10 a.m. on April 11
